Ski In Ski Out

As the ski season slowly winds down, many are already looking towards the new ski season and the best chalets are already moving fast. Some of the most popular are slope side chalets, often termed 'ski in ski out'. Family ski holidays are particularly suited for such accommodation as it enables families to ski straight from the door.

If you are looking for a ski chalet next to the piste, Ski In Ski Out Chalets have a great portfolio, from outstanding luxury catered chalets in Val d'Isere, through to some of the best family chalets to be found.

Skis On Wheels From PortaSki - Ski Carrier Test

Here at Family Ski we are lucky to get the odd freebie and this week we have been testing PortaSki's "Skis On Wheels" which is the only way we could describe it. The device, which alleviates the need to carry your skis, turns them into a trolley! We tested the device with our children, and not only did it make it easy for us to transport our skis, the children for the first time took control of their own equipment without any debate necessary!

The device took a Krypton Factor 5 minutes to set up, but once you work it out it is really quite simple. It fits together as one neat package, but when you need splits into two pieces. One piece becomes a pull along handle, with the other fitting on the bottom as wheels, both using velcro.

At only £19.95 it really is an affordable ski carrier, compact and light, wellmade, and most importantly it worked really well (we were sceptical at first).
Yes the wheels might go slightly out of kilt if you deliberately targeted stones and rocks, but in general use it works a dream, and surprisingly again on snow!

Being one that laughs at most ski accessories as cheap gimmicks, this one is only cheap! It's certainly not a gimmick and family ski groups might one to put 3 or 4 on order!!

Family Ski Holidays

With fantastic snow conditions this week, and even more snow falling here in the Alps at all levels (Chamonix is boasting 380cm at the top of the Ski Club of Great Britain charts), it won't be surprising to find a few parents eyeing the ski websites for the next family ski holiday.

If you are looking at the popular ski weeks of Christmas, New Year, half term, or the Easter ski brea, its never too early as the best family chalets always go first.

Half Term Ski

If you have just got back from Easter skiing, and are thinking about the next ski holiday, the ski Christmas or ski half term break, time is fast running out, particularly in respect of the latter where family ski holiday makers are already snapping the best family chalets in the best family ski resorts.

And people looking for a great half term ski deal, probably should give up on this idea. You may get a small discount for an early half term ski booking, but closer to the time expect more buyers than sellers, and we all know what happens to prices then!
